Shaw keeps getting greener
Our home is Canada. Keeping our country beautiful
by making smarter environmental choices is just one
way we're reducing our overall ecological impact.
Reduce: eBilling saves more than 620,000 pieces of
paper a year. We're also using Bullfrog
wind power in Calgary buildings and deploying
hybrid vehicles in our fleet.

Recycle: We save more than 870 metric tonnes of waste annually
from going to landfills by recycling paper, plastic, metal and
other materials at all locations. Last year, we recycled more
than 450,000 obsolete internet modems for our customers.
Re-use: Shaw refurbishes and re-uses all electronic items. Items
beyond useful life at Shaw are sold or donated to countries
and organizations where they can be used. Anything beyond
repair are recycled through the Electronic Recycling Association.
Conserving and preserving
Helping the environment isn't just about the three Rs.
Shaw is committed to helping our communities preserve and sustain their green spaces. A contribution of more than $550,000 assured The Land Conservancy (TLC) of British Columbia could complete the construction of a permanent regional park at the Sooke Potholes.
The park is a 63.5-hectare property featuring the famous Potholes swimming area, spectacular views of the Sooke River, access to the Galloping Goose Regional Trail, hiking and camping.
