8th Annual Jondo Flamenco Festival

Peña Bulería Flamenco Club, in collaboration with the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society, is pleased to present the 8th Annual International Jondo Flamenco Festival, May 6, 14, 16, and 25, 2012 at multiple locations across Vancouver, BC. Shaw is a proud sponsor of this event that features two breathtaking performances, a two-day competition and the Canadian premiere of the documentary film “Por El Flamenco”. Diversity Health Fair in Surrey

A World Of Smiles Telethon

Shaw and BC’s South Asian community join together on Sunday May 27 for the annual A World of Smiles Telethon benefiting the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. The event is the culmination of province-wide fundraising events efforts throughout the year, and is an amazing opportunity to meet just some of the children and families who have been affected by the work of the hospital.

The telethon airs live on Shaw Multicultural Channel, Shaw TV and Shaw Direct throughout British Columbia Sunday May 27 from 5pm - 11pm. Visit the main site www.aworldofsmiles.ca

Mandarin Chinese-Canadian Miracle Weekend

Telethon raised $100,000.00!

BC Children’s Hospital Foundation reached out to Metro Vancouver’s Mandarin-speaking community Sunday September 18 with the Mandarin Chinese-Canadian Miracle Weekend on SMC, and the community responded with great generosity, raising $100,000.00 to support health services and research for BC's kids. This compelling and informative show shared the stories of the many patients and families who use the services of the hospital, and provided updates on the Superhero campaign and the outstanding achievements in research and treatment at the hospital. Thank you to all the generous donors who contributed to this year's telethon!
