Set Up My Email Program

You’ve created a shaw.ca email address. Now it’s time to configure your email program. Regardless of which email program you’re using, you’ll need to enter the following information:

  • Your email address
    • If you don’t remember your email address, you can see all addresses on your account at the Online Customer Care Web site. You can also use this Web site to manage your email accounts, including username and password
  • Your email username, which is the part of the email address that comes before "@shaw.ca"
  • Your email password
  • The Incoming and outgoing mail server names, also called POP3 and SMTP servers
    • To find out your incoming and outgoing server name (fully qualified server name - FQDN), simply choose the city nearest you in the menu below and enter the server name shown as the incoming and outgoing server names, also called POP3 and SMTP servers, when setting up your email program
Shaw Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Lookup Tool

    • Newsgroup Server Settings (if required): Use news.shawcable.net for the incoming and outgoing server name

Note: If you are currently using shawmail as the incoming or outgoing server name in your email program configuration, we suggest you replace it with the server name for your area, in the lookup tool shown above
