Azureus

If you use Azureus for your Bit Torrent file sharing, you can protect your computer and bandwidth usage by configuring the program settings following these steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click Transfer.
  3. Set the Max upload slots per torrent default value to 2.
  4. Ensure that the Allow multiple connections from the same IP option is unchecked.
  5. Click LAN.
  6. Set the KB/s LAN max upload speed [0:unlimited] value to 1.
  7. Click Queue.
  8. Click Seeding.
  9. Ensure that the Use Super Seeding option is unchecked.
  10. Ensure that the Disconnect seeds when seeding option is checked.
  11. Click Save.

Azureus Usage Tips

Updates

If you install updates for Azureus, the above settings may be changed. When you do install updates to your program, we recommend that you go through these settings again to ensure that your computer and bandwidth are protected.

Close when Idle

When not using Azureus, we recommend that you close it completely. You can do so by right-clicking the Azureus icon in the system tray (near the clock display) and selecting Exit.
