What is Shaw's network upgrade?

Shaw's network upgrade is part of our continued efforts to provide you with a great entertainment experience by transitioning channels from analog to a superior digital format.

Why is Shaw's network upgrade occurring?

Our ability to provide our customers with leading TV and Internet services is greatly influenced by how much space we have on our network. The best way to think about this is to picture a crowded highway running through the city. The more cars on the highway, the slower the journey from point A to point B.

By upgrading Shaw services to digital, we'll essentially be freeing up space by reducing traffic, enabling us to deliver services more efficiently. This means we’ll be better able to bring you more channels and provide consistent Internet speeds now and into the future.

When Shaw's network upgrade is near completion in my area, what will I need to do keep my TV service working?

Prior to the network upgrade, you will need a Shaw Digital Box connected to each TV to keep the service working at each TV in your home.

After Shaw's network upgrade occurs in my area, what happens if I do not connect a Digital Box to each TV in my home?

Once the upgrade occurs, all channels will only be viewable on TVs that are connected to a Digital Box. Any TV not connected to a Digital Box will not be able to show you any of your channels that come with the Shaw TV service.

How much does one Digital Box cost?

We want to make sure that all customers can continue to watch TV once the change occurs in their area. So, Shaw customers who do not have a Digital Box will receive one complimentary refurbished Digital Box**.
