Aidan Scott is a survivor of childhood physical, sexual, and mental abuse, and a former service user of Kids Help Phone. In his teenage years, he battled deep depression and suicidal thoughts.
Today, Aidan is a mental health advocate and Kids Help Phone Ambassador, who shares his experience with thousands of young people, especially teenage guys, speaking about the importance of reaching out for help when times are tough. Aidan volunteered as a facilitator with the launch of Kids Help Phone’s Bro Talk project in 2015, helping to break down the stigma surrounding help-seeking behavior and mental health challenges for young males.
Aidan has been an Adult Leadership Volunteer with Kids Help Phone since 2007, volunteered as the Logistics Lead for the Vancouver Walk So Kids Can Talk, a spokesperson and mentor for Bro Talk, and a volunteer liaison for the Youth Ambassador program. He is also the founder of SpeakBox, the first of its kind online service that aims to connect all young people in Canada to digital mental health treatment and peer support programs.
