Meet our Outstanding Canadians: Ashley Chapman

Ashley’s baby niece, Quinn, suddenly died after a few short months of her birth, which was caused by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In her memory, Ashley has created an annual run to raise awareness of the many families that have suffered a loss from SIDS and need support and information about the process that happens after the loss.

Through the run each year, Ashley and her sister and are aiming to raise awareness of the processes a family undergoes after they lose a baby to SIDS. For example, in Canada, maternity and parental government financial support is revoked within a week of the loss of a child, so Quinn's Legacy was created to help these families with all funds raised supporting SIDS Calgary Society.
