Meet our Outstanding Canadians: Shazzaneiy Mohamed Nalir

Shazz has gone above and beyond for his community and his country through his extensive volunteer work as the Founder and Chair of Youth2Give, a non-profit organization that empowers local youth to support disadvantaged youth around the world. The organization is led by youth living in low-income communities, such as Regent Park, providing unique leadership and governance opportunities to young people to help youth around the world. Youth2Give has raised over $10,000 to support disadvantaged youth through various community events and campaigns, such as basketball tournaments, car washes, henna fundraisers, and clothing drives. Shazz is also an Alumni Ambassador of the Pathways to Education Program and in this role, he is an advocate of breaking the cycle of poverty through the power of education for youth in both his community and across the country.

Through Youth2Give, Shazz has supported UNICEF Canada, LifeLine Syria, Human Concern International, Um Anas Clothing Drive, Canadian Red Cross, and more. In 2016, Daniels Corporation and Toronto Community Housing sponsored Youth2Give's annual car wash as a response to the dust and debris created by the Regent Park revitalization construction. In-kind donations were collected to support an orphanage in Somalia.
