Personality - Simon

Simon Hiatt


Simon Hiatt is a native Saskatonian. After graduating from Walter Murray Collegiate he attended the University of Saskatchewan, receiving an Arts degree in History. His experience at Shaw began in 1997 as a volunteer, since then he has worked his way up to freelance reporter, part-time employee and his current full-time position which he has held since 2001. He has worked in a variety of positions during his time at Shaw; hosting, covering news, sports and human interest stories, as well as providing play-by-play commentary for several sporting events. He formerly co-hosted a half-hour movie review show called Cinema Ten, which ran for four seasons and is the current host of Remote Control Cinema which airs in systems across the country. Away from Shaw, he is the play by play voice of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies basketball teams for their internet broadcasts and is also an award-winning filmmaker. In his spare time he has become an avid (though still terrible) golfer, and he loves movies and baseball, especially cheering on his Chicago Cubs.

Lisa Risom

Producer/Reporter - Prince Albert

Lisa Risom grew up in the rural farming community of Quill Lake. Her interest in news and world affairs led her to university. She studied at the University of Regina where she graduated with distinction with a degree in Journalism & Communications. As a journalist, Lisa's aim is to get as close to the truth as possible no matter what the subject.

In 2001, Lisa began her a career at Shaw TV in Saskatoon, SK. The freedom of the Shaw newsroom led her to pursue grassroots reporting, covering topics like poverty, crime, and the environment. Lisa also reported for shows like The Health Show and Entertainment West. She now runs the Prince Albert community channel, looking after everything from producing mobile events and coordinating volunteers to reporting and editing feature stories. When not at work Lisa enjoys exercising outdoors, homemaking, and spending time with her family.
