Christy was born and raised in beautiful British Columbia, where she started her broadcasting career with Shaw TV Cranbrook as a volunteer. In 2008, Christy graduated from Mount Royal College with a Broadcast Diploma and moved to Medicine Hat to work as the morning news anchor and show co-host for 102.1 CJCY-FM. Eventually Christy was promoted to News Director and won an RTNDA award for her documentary on the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and Medicine Hat’s role in helping the country recover. Christy has now come full-circle, returning to Shaw TV as Assignment Editor. She has a passion for community involvement and mentoring young people as they develop their own dreams for their futures.

When not at work, Christy operates a part-time at-home business, cooks big dinners for friends and family and curls up with a cup of tea and good movie.

David Gee


Originally hailing from Neepawa, Manitoba, David likes to live life to the fullest. Armed with a Broadcasting Degree from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, David ventured west to Medicine Hat, starting out with a spell at CHAT Television before making the switch to Community cable.
David is one of the most well known faces of Shaw TV Medicine Hat, despite the fact that he spends all of his time behind the camera. David works behind the scenes with a number of our volunteer hosts. Always up for a conversation, anytime, anywhere, he’s one of the most positively perky people you’ll ever meet. The lights of his life are his two children, Ethan and Dominique.

When not at work, Dave likes to spend his time doing good deeds, flying RC planes, or more than anything, spending time with his family.


Leanne Evans


Born in Calgary and raised in Beaumont Alberta, Leanne earned her Broadcast Journalism Diploma at Lethbridge College in 2010. She spent a year after school working in the radio business in Lethbridge and Whitecourt. Leanne has a huge passion for journalism and is excited to work for Shaw TV.
