What is Shaw Go WiFi?

Shaw Go WiFi provides you with a Shaw Internet experience beyond the home, at no extra cost. As a Shaw Internet customer, you can access a large network of WiFi hotspots all over your city. If you are currently not a Shaw Internet customer, select hotspots will allow you to connect as a guest to experience the Shaw Go WiFi network.

How can I find a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot?
On a mobile device

To find a WiFi hotspot in your area, simply open the Shaw Go WiFi Finder app. A map of available Shaw Go WiFi hotspots near you will be displayed.

On a computer or laptop

If you are on a personal computer, visit the Shaw Go WiFi map at www.shaw.ca/wifi to find WiFi hotspots in your area. Your approximated location is the red pin on the map.

How do I connect to a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot?

To access a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot, you will first need to ensure that you are in an area that has an active WiFi hotspot by checking for the closest location on the Shaw Go WiFi Finder app or on our online map.

Once you have confirmed that you are in a WiFi hotspot, you can connect to it by following these steps:

  1. Access the Network/WiFi settings on your WiFi enabled device
  2. Find the network named ShawOpen from the list of available networks and connect to it
  3. Open your Web Browser and you will be presented with the Shaw WiFi sign in page. If you are using an iOS device, this page will automatically open for you once you have selected the ShawOpen network
  4. Sign in using your @shaw.ca email address and password
  5. Select the option to remember the Shaw Go WiFi network on your device

Once you have connected to ShawOpen, your device will automatically connect to other Shaw Go WiFi hotspots when you are within their range.

Why am I unable to sign in as a Shaw Internet customer?

If you are unable to connect to a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot, it could be as a result of one of the following:

If you would like to forget the Shaw Go WiFi network on your device, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Network/WiFi settings on your WiFi enabled device
  2. Find the network named ShawOpen from the list of available preferred networks on your device
    1. iOS mobile devices: Select the blue arrow beside ShawOpen > Forget this Network > Forget
    2. Android devices: ShawOpen > Forget
    3. BlackBerry devices: ShawOpen > BlackBerry key > Delete
    4. Windows mobile devices: Settings > Available > ShawOpen > Forget this Network
    5. Mac OS X: System Preferences > Network > WiFi > ShawOpen > “Disconnect” > Advanced > ShawOpen > “-” button > Ok > Apply
    6. Windows 7: Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Networks > ShawOpen > Remove
    7. Windows 8: Settings > Wireless icon > ShawOpen > Right click Forget this Network”
