LET’S BUILD A FOREST TOGETHER.

We all have a role to play in fighting climate change as part of making our planet a safer and healthier place to live. At Shaw, we're dedicated to supporting our environment through a variety of initiatives. This year, to celebrate Earth Month we're challenging gamers everywhere to help us turn digital trees into real ones with the help of our friends at Tree Canada.

PRO GAMERS' TREE
SPREE RESULTS.

Together, six professional gamers planted 3887 digital trees in their favourite video games during a live streaming event on Twitch in early April.

For every one of the 3887 digital trees they planted, we will plant a real tree, which is equivalent to the annual carbon emissions of over 3000 gaming PCs.

MAKING THE WORLD BRIGHTER TOGETHER.

We’re committed to finding ways to reduce our carbon emissions and climate change impacts, and help build an inclusive, healthy and connected world via our Environmental, Social and Governance Program.

Here are some of the organizations we partner with to support our environment:

Tree Canada

We’ve partnered with Tree Canada since 2018 to plant over 35 000 trees together. In 2020 we planted enough trees to offset our commercial air travel emissions, while compensating for half of our paper use for billing.

Earth Rangers

We’ve supported Earth Rangers since 2014 to help provide sustainability education to over 70 000 students in over 240 Canadian schools. This year, we’re supporting the Earth Rangers app to help educate kids across Canada.

Mobi By Shaw Go

Since 2016, Mobi by Shaw Go users have clocked over 7.7 million km in bike rides, saving over 300 000 kg of CO2 by replacing trips that would have been taken by car.

PLAY TODAY & HELP PLANET EARTH TOMORROW.

A typical gaming computer consumes the same amount of energy as approximately three refrigerators. This power is often used in games where players are creating greener, healthier environments. So help us turn your healthy, digital forests into real ones.
